| Wijngoed informatie | "The vineyard lies in the municipality of Lorch in the German cultivation area called Rhinegau. It was founded in 1826 by the family Altenkirch to support their hotel The swan. German emperor Wilhelm I (1797-1888) had been guest in this hotel 1878 and after that the vineyard Altenkirch became court supplier. In 1934 the company was acquired by Dr. Franz Breuer from Rüdesheim. After his death his wife took the management and from 1994 it was lead by daughter Franziska Breuer-Hadwiger. With Andreas von Rosen a new companion came in 2005. The vineyards enclose 20 hectares. They are planted with Riesling (70%) and late Burgundian (20%), as well as tiny amounts of the kinds of white Burgundians, Rivaner, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc and early Burgundians. There occurs a logical close to nature management with the aim of low yields.Good wine grows. An alarmingly easy sentence behind which a reality is hidden which means nothing else than to accept the grape than graduation of all things. Each of their wines have an unmistakeable face also thanks to Tomoko Kuriyama. In vineyard and cellar she provides for the fact that her sprigs develop a maximum in character.
